Freddo Cappuccino

The Freddo Cappuccino is a fixture of summer in Greece, combining chilled espresso and a layer of textured milk. For our seasonal special here in Berlin, we bring the coffee and milk together during mixing for an irresistibly silky coffee with elevated sweetness. With a light, foamy top and smooth body running through the drink, the notes of your chosen espresso will really shine.

Our recipe was created for oat milk, whose sweetness and creamy texture really complements the natural notes of our coffee. Dairy milk works equally well, provided it creates a stable, silky foam. When choosing a coffee for your Freddo, the cooler temperature highlights different qualities in the coffee. A naturally processed coffee, offering body, sweetness, and rich fruit notes, would be a delicious match.

You Will Need

Double espresso

110 ml cold oat milk

2 ice cubes

2.5 g sugar (optional)

Milk frother or milkshake mixer

Freddo Cappuccino made with espresso and oat milk. Oat Milk from Oatly.

Method

Brew your double espresso, with a yield of approximately 40g, depending on the coffee.

Add the espresso, ice cubes, milk, and sugar if using, to your shaker or mixer.

Blend for around one minute, until the coffee and milk are combined and lightly aerated.

Strain into a chilled glass to remove any remaining ice. Serve and enjoy.
