One farm. One varietal. Two expressions of process.
Our Guatemala Twin Box brings together two coffees from Antonio Medina’s La Colina estate in Chimaltenango. Grown from the same Caturra varietal at 1,700 metres, the coffees offer a rare opportunity to taste how processing can transform the character of a single farm.

Side by side, the washed and natural lots reveal two beautifully contrasting expressions of La Colina: one clean, comforting and balanced; the other vibrant, tropical and fruit-forward.

La Colina Washed 🇬🇹
A beautifully balanced Caturra with smooth sweetness and soft acidity. Expect notes of baked apple, nougat and pecan, with a lingering milk chocolate character as the coffee cools.

Using fresh spring water from the farm, the coffee is fully washed before being sun-dried on patios. The result is a clean and elegant cup that showcases the classic character we love in Guatemala.

La Colina Natural  🇬🇹
The same farm and varietal take on an entirely different character through natural processing. Ripe tropical flavours of papaya and dried mango meet soft vanilla, nougat and candied fruit, carried by a silky texture and generous sweetness.

Only fully ripe cherries are selected before drying on raised beds for around 15 days. Keeping the fruit around the seed throughout drying builds intensity and sweetness while preserving the clarity that defines Antonio’s coffees.

One Farm, Two Processes
La Colina means “The Hill”, a fitting name for Antonio Medina’s steep, forested farm in the highlands of Chimaltenango. Antonio is the third generation of his family to work this land and planted his first coffee trees in 1991, gradually building La Colina around a focus on quality rather than quantity.

This Twin Box puts processing at the centre of the tasting experience. Brew the coffees side by side to discover how the same producer, terroir and Caturra varietal can produce two remarkably different cups: the clarity and balance of washed processing alongside the lush fruit and sweetness of a natural.
