Grown in the unique high-altitude microclimate of Huehuetenango, this washed coffee delivers remarkable balance and clarity. Warm notes of vanilla, milk chocolate and malt create a rich, comforting foundation, while a subtle hint of sweet orange adds brightness and freshness. The careful processing preserves a silky texture and refined sweetness, allowing each flavour to unfold with precision. Whether enjoyed as a filter coffee or prepared for espresso, the cup is elegant, approachable and exceptionally well-rounded, offering the kind of everyday drinkability that keeps you coming back.
Francisco Morales has dedicated his life to coffee, inspired by his grandfather who planted his first coffee trees when Francisco was just 14 years old. In 1977, he established his own farm after raising 9,000 seedlings in a nursery, laying the foundation for a career built on patience and craftsmanship. Located near La Democracia, close to the Guatemalan border with Mexico, the farm benefits from a remarkable natural environment. Warm air from Mexico combines with the cool mountain nights of the Huehuetenango plateau, creating ideal conditions for producing high-quality Arabica coffee with outstanding consistency year after year.

After careful harvesting, the cherries undergo an extended 40-hour fermentation before being fully washed. This slower fermentation develops greater depth and complexity while maintaining the clean, transparent character expected from a classic washed coffee. Once processed, the coffee is dried under 50% shade rather than direct sunlight. This gentle approach reduces the risk of cracking and allows the beans to dry evenly, preserving their sweetness, smooth texture and delicate aromatics. The result is a refined cup with impressive balance and clarity that reflects Francisco Morales meticulous attention to every stage of production.
i had this with me up to work where we have an unoffielciel coffee club where we are 4 different nationalities that brings coffee and chocolates from each of our countries. this was among the biggest hit especialy when pared with the luxury chocolates we brought with us.
it had a nice round taste and really was a good coffee for this purpose other than this we had some more fruity types but with the chocolates this was really the one
No bitterness, just a really lovely smooth espresso. Our new favorite

Every coffee I taste is a whole new experience …A trip from Africa to North America lies at a cup of coffee from THE BARN!
Gute, seidige Textur. Angenehm süß mit fruchtigen Noten. Gut als klassischer Espresso am Nachmittag. Hat mir persönlich aber am besten als Turbo Shot geschmeckt.
